Thought for Food at ART LOGIC
Food for the Hungry
Australian businesses throw out $7.8 billion of edible food every year. This could be going to homeless shelters.
Why we need help
We need refrigerated transport to bring the food, otherwise wasted, to homeless shelters.
How you can help
Buy a $25 ticket at http://www.thoughtforfood.com.au/tickets for Thought for Food’s premier event for on Sunday 15 April at 5.30pm in ART LOGIC’s garden gallery at 62 Amherst Avenue, Trinity Gardens, just 10 minutes East of Adelaide’s CBD near Norwood.
- There will be delicious wine and nibbles galore.
- Guest speaker from OzHarvest, Hayley Everuss
- ART LOGIC artist Lou Gannon will create live a charcoal artwork of the event. At 7.30pm the artwork will be auctioned off, funds going towards purchasing arefrigerated van to tranport food for the hungry.
- Bring warm clothes and an umbrella just in case it rains - it is an outside event in ART LOGIC’s beautiful gallery garden
ART LOGIC’s Coordinator, Allesia Winter, has taken on the challenge to raise $50,000 for OzHarvest, a charity that collects excess food daily across Adelaide for those in need. Allesia has founded 'Food for Thought' which will use these $50,000 to buy OzHarvest a refrigerated van to transport food from the many businesses happy to donate their excess food (supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants and conference function centres) to the shelters that cook meals for the homeless in Adelaide.
